GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

Our school has a guidance counselor who provides services as a whole class, small group, and individual counseling.  Parents may arrange conferences with the counselor by calling the school office and making an appointment.

Bayou Lacombe Middle School: Janice F. Edgerson

  • Provides mental health and wellness services and programs that foster social skills and appropriate behaviors in school setting
  • Identify mental health and behavioral needs of students
  • Identify interventions to foster success with identified students as needed for learning or behavior programs
  • Conduct group and individual sessions according to individualized evaluation plans. 

Parents and guardians are urged to contact your child's school if:

-You feel your child is having difficulty with school or personal issue.

-You need assistance finding an outside agency for issues that may arise.

I am excited to be a part of the Bayou Lacombe Middle School Team to help effect the maturation, development and academic excellence of our students. I see my primary purpose to bring intentionality to invest my mind, time, resources, and caring to invest in, and impact others.

·         direct student services (individual guidance, student-to-student restorative facilitation, mentoring and academic advisement),

·         parent and community communication,

·         topical classroom lessons, and

·         collaboration with school staff.
